If you are reading this letter, chances are your company relies heavily on faxing for mission critical, secure document transmission. Thousands of companies do. Ironically, some outside the industry believe Fax is an obsolete technology. We know that couldn’t be farther from the truth. In fact, we sold more fax software and services in 2015 than in any year of our 23 year history. During this time we’ve developed in-depth expertise around production faxing, cloud and hybrid faxing, virtualization and FoIP, and the critical integrations that surround your fax environment. So it should come as no surprise that we are continually looking for the latest and most innovative fax solutions to deliver to our customers. For most of our history, we were the leading provider of RightFax™, which for many years was the leading fax server on the market. But when Captaris, the creators of RightFax™, was acquired by OpenText™ in 2008, that began to change. While RightFax™ was the sole focus for Captaris, it became a smaller segment of the much larger OpenText™ enterprise. Our sole focus has always been on our customers. And as the needs and requirements of our customers became more complex, we saw the need to expand our product offering to better meet those needs.
Unfortunately, offering these new products was in direct conflict with the exclusivity restrictions of our OpenText™ partner agreement. So, in October of 2015, our partnership with OpenText™ came to an end. Since that time, we have continued to support our hundreds of RightFax™ customers with the same levels of unparalleled service and expertise they have come to expect from us. But this change also allowed us to further expand our product portfolio with more sophisticated offerings from companies whose sole focus is FAX. Companies such as Biscom, FaxCore, XMedius, etherFAX, stratafax, and more. These companies are laser-focused on fax and secure document transmission. These companies are innovators and leaders in the Fax market. They invest in Research and Development to ensure their solutions deliver the most advanced technology available to meet the changing needs of companies like yours. And each of these products offer unique strengths to meet the wide variety of business challenges we see in our diverse customer base.
